What is ISS-2000
designed for?
|
|
|
We are very
glad to announce ISS-2000
that can forwards any IP address to
Internet. This is a perfect solution which is suitably installed
in the Hotel, Airport, Campus Apartment, Public Information Station,
and Enterprise without MIS Staff usage.
The perfect
product ISS-2000 can be deployed effectively in a variety of environments
where many users who need high speed access to the Internet plug
into network without changing IP configuration no matter he or she
used to use fixed IP, DHCP client, or private IP.
The
user doesn't need to change any configuration in his notebook.
The user just plug-and-play his notebook and get into the Internet.
That's all and very simple. So visitors in Hotel and other people
in those places I mentioned above are sitting on couch and plug
Ethernet cable or Telephone cable (for HomePNA) to the outlet and
start Web Browser. This product will pop up one window and want
the visitor to enter the username and password. After the authorization,
the visitor will get the Internet connection.

high speed Internet access and links to local services, advertising,
and merchants.
2. Airports: providing commuters with high speed Internet
access (in frequent flyer lounges and other public access locations).

high speed Internet access to residents.
4. Campuses: providing students and teachers with high speed
Internet access, including bandwidth management and home page redirection.

|
|
|
What are the
benefits of the hotel owner?
|
|
|
Easy
to install.
The installation is based on hotel original network construction.
No setting is for every room. (HomePNA
PS-80 series)
Low Cost and low maintenance cost.
There is no any construction change in the hotel. You can set up
your plug-and-play internet access network by using the existing
in-hotel phone wiring in your hotel or by using a Category 5 Ethernet
cable and hub.
High performance. ISS-2000 can totally
perform high quality on your existing networking structure.

So visitors in Hotel and other people in those places (Hotel,
Airport, Campus Apartment, Public Information Station, and Enterprise
without MIS Staff usage) are sitting on couch and plug Ethernet
cable or Telephone cable (for HomePNA) to the outlet and start Web
Browser. This system will pop up one window and ask the visitor

Can I install
ISS-2000 if we have our existing network construction?
|
|
|

the users timer and let them pay by time?
|
|
|
The ISS-2000
supports RADIUS client, that called Remote Authentication Dial-In
User Service.
RADIUS enables ISPs to maintain a very large central database of
users (potentially in the millions).

|
| 11. |
Can I control
the user's ID and password to see if the user can go to internet?
|
|
The Internet
Subscriber Server provides proprietary authentication server which
is allowed administer to control user's login name and password.

|
| 12. |
Should I go
into control room to modify system configuration every time?
|
|
Don't be so
hard! Take it easy to remote control the system!
Administrator can access this system by using web browsers such

Can ISS-2000
be interfaced with wireless ethernet instead of wired ethernet? I
mean 802,11b wireless ethernet if the subscriber installed a wireless
PCMCIA card in his notebook already.
|
|
Of course, if
some guests/customers who want to involve in wireless application,
they can just add the access point into our LAN interface of ISS-2000.

|
| 16. |
Do I need
to buy a RADIUS server for ISS-2000? What kind of billing system will
RADIUS server support? And also what kind of billing system support
by ISS-2000's simple billing?
|
| |
If
your solution need for more detail billing information, a RADIUS server
is required.
Because on Radius Server you can get more detail information like
when this account login and logout, so you can define how do you want
to charge to the client. Although ISS-2000 provided a simple billing
system, but it can not provide detail information. ISS-2000 implemented
billing system can provide a simple billing like this:
1.
Prepaid
For example
in coffee shop. This coffee shop provide broadband internet access
service to his customer. Before his customers want to use this service,
customer have to buy a username/ password and "time" for
use. Coffee shop staff will create an user account for the customer
and input the "time" that customer request. For example
customer bought 2 hours for using, then coffee shop staff create
an user account with lease time 2 hours for the customer. When customer
first time login and access to internet, ISS2000 will record the
login time and count untill 2 hours then disconnect this customer.
That means if customer first time login on 1:00, so his only can
use the service until 3:00.
2.
Pay after used
Customer request to coffee shop staff that his want to use internet
access, so the staff will create a user account (Username/ Password)
for the customer. Customer get the user account and login to use
internet. At this time ISS2000 will record the login time. When
customer want to terminate the service , his have to go to the staff
for asking a bill. At this time coffee shop staff have to login
to ISS2000 and disconnect the account. So ISS2000 will according
to the login time and disconnect time to calculate the used time.
For example
after customer get the username/password and login to the internet
on 1:00 and his finished the service and go to the staff for billing,
and the staff disconnect the service on 3:00, it means 2 hours have
been used. Howerver between 1:00 to 3:00 , may be the customer actual
use only 15 minute, but with this simple billing system, it can
not provide the information for how many time customer login or
logout.
With using Radius
Server to do billing. You can provide the following billing system.
1.Prepaid
For example customer buy 2 hours for use. On first login, his used
30 minutes and logout. So his still can use 1 hour 30 minutes.
2. Pay after
used
Evertime customer login and logout , all the time record will save
in
the Radius Server Database. So when customer asking for billing
, staff can login to the server to calculate how many time that
customer have been login

| 17. |
Limitation of "Online
Sign UP" and "Wall Garden" |
| |
If subscriber PC have proxy
Server setting (Proxy enable), it can not link to the specified page
properly.

|
| 18. |
Limitation on "Wall
Garden |
| |
The configuration of 'Link Page' on
Wall Garden do not support the Global Domain name which have multi
IP address, like www.yahoo.com , www.hotmail.com, www.google.com
and etc.

|
| 19. |
Destination port for
TCP HTTP is not standard port 80, but 8080,8000 or 3128, for example:
subscriber want to link to the web page that web port is not 80 but
8080,8000 or 3128 (http://IP address:8080) via ISS2000, will it work? |
| |
No, ISS2000 do not pass
through the TCP HTTP packet which port number is 8080,8000 or 3128.
Because 8080, 8000 and 3128 already used for proxy application in
ISS2000. However is TCP HTTP packet port number is not 8080,8000 or
3128, like 8001,8002 etc it could be passed through by ISS2000.
